Description
Kukulcan is a mobile puzzle game where players slip into the role of Kukulcan, the Mayan snake deity. It can drop off parts of its tail to create stairs, bridges, plug fountains and much more. This is a crucial feature to solve the puzzle since only a limited length can be used in each level. Moveable boxes, lava lakes, teleporters and further exciting abilities will challenge the player’s wit and creativity.
History
Andres, the programmer of Black Spoon Studios, was always interested in the Mayan culture. He was fascinated by the architecture of their buildings and temples and their complex and artful writing system. His first project was creating a maya-inspired font during his graphic design studies, then in 2018 he wanted to create a game. Inspired by the mobile game classic Snake, he developed the idea behind Kukulcan and reached out to his former colleagues from the Zurich University of the Art. Joëlle, a puzzle-enthusiast and Julia, a fan of myths. Since then, they have joined forces to develop Kukulcan.
